GRF is pleased to sponsor the 2nd annual Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind “Lighting the Way” Gala at the Embassy of France in Washington, DC.
The evening will include a cocktail reception, a gourmet French dinner, an exciting program and live entertainment. Also, the gala will honor our community and extraordinary individuals who have overcome their vision loss.
The keynote speaker will be Christopher Downey, a San Francisco-based architect who suddenly went blind, yet learned how to improve and contribute to his field with a unique perspective, despite his visual impairment. Internationally recognized for his work as an architect as well as a speaker, Chris was recently featured in 60 Minutes and has provided inspiring and comedic TED talks. There will also be a live performance by José André Montaño, a 13-year-old pianist and composer who is blind and has performed worldwide including at the Kennedy Center.
