GRF CPAs & Advisors (GRF) is pleased to announce that Tricia Katebini, CPA, MBA, Partner, is the 2022 recipient of the Maryland Association of CPAs (MACPA) Max Teichmann Award. Presented to Ms. Katebini at the annual meeting on June 24 by the Chair of MACPA’s Board of Directors, Lexy Kessler, CPA, the award is given each year to a member who exemplifies service to the community. She was recognized for her commitment to mentoring young CPAs as well as her enthusiasm for the accounting profession.
Ms. Katebini is a champion for the Maryland Association of CPAs (MACPA). She has served on the Governmental and Not-for-Profit Conference Committee for the past several years. In 2021, she was also named a Woman to Watch in the emerging leader category by the MACPA.
“Tricia is not just a Champion of MACPA, she is passionate about this profession, offering her strategic and innovative insights to make it better, locally and nationally”, said Jackie Brown, CEO of MACPA. “She is deeply committed to the profession’s future, actively engaged in mentoring the next generation of CPAs and leaders. We are extremely grateful for all she does to make MACPA better and it is an honor to recognize her as the 2022 Max Teichmann Award recipient.”
In January 2022, Ms. Katebini was promoted to firm partner at GRF where she manages nonprofit financial audits for associations, nonprofit healthcare, political organizations, and arts and culture organizations. She has more than 15 years in public accounting and is active in the CPA community, frequently speaking at industry and related conferences. She serves on GRF’s women’s leadership committee and is an in-house champion for the firm’s artificial intelligence (AI) auditing methodology. In 2021, Ms. Katebini was appointed to the AICPA’s Joint Trial Board, a well-respected position within the CPA community. She is also the current Board President for Laurel Advocacy and Referral Services, a Laurel, MD nonprofit that enables homeless and low-income people in crisis to achieve stability and long-term self-sufficiency.
