Mr. Shuman has worked in public accounting since 1994, providing auditing, accounting and consulting services to tax-exempt organizations and for-profit businesses at various stages of development. Proficient in several accounting software packages and a certified ProAdvisor in QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online, he frequently advises clients on best practices for setting up their accounting systems. He and members of his team also serve as a controller or CFO when needed, and can assist with recruiting and training accounting personnel when the client’s goal is to retain as many accounting functions as possible in-house.
As a partner in the firm’s Outsourced Accounting & Advisory Services group, he oversees outsourced accounting engagements and is a frequently requested speaker on the components of tax-exempt financial statements as well as other topics. Mr. Shuman is a member of the faculty at the Center for Nonprofit Advancement and he was previously recognized as one of CPA Technology Advisor magazine’s “40 Under 40”.
Mr. Shuman is also a member of the Information Technology Alliance (ITA), an independent membership association that brings together mid-market technology professionals, consultants, and product/service providers to share information, learn best practices, improve their service capabilities, and build relationships that improve the way they, and their clients, do business.
